Each week I get to speak to my church - it’s titled “Something for the child in all of us” and is meant to resonate with all the parents, grandparents, aunt, uncles, friends and to share messages of Faith at its simplest level. I’ve been doing this for a couple of years now and really love what I find and then love to see how others take inspiration from it.
On Sunday, which was Pentacost Sunday, I felt inspired to speak about the recent events of the Northern Lights, and the Eclipse, which seemed to remove the politics and barriers from our lives and come out, see our neighbors and unite our communities.
Thinking about our Universe:
There are about 200 billion trillion stars!
There are about 100 thousand million stars just in the Milky Way!
We can see about 10,000 stars with our naked eye
And there are about 100,000 hairs on our head
Some passages that will remind us that God our Creator is out there and creating the amazing universe we live in (links open a New Window to Bible Gateway site):
Luke 12:7 “Indeed the very hairs of your head are al numberd. Don’t be afraid.” NIV Bible
All these passages remind us that we are part wonder of the universe. Imagine that our creator can create such a vast and ever growing universe.
We closed in prayer: God, our Universe Creator - continue to unite us by the magnificane of the Stars, Northern Lights, Eclipses and the creation of our planet Earth. Guide us to protect our planet and connect us with others who yearn to learn about its Creation by You. In your name we pray. Amen
(The image was taken around 10 pm on the evening we were searching for the Northern Lights. We never found them when they came close, but we did see so many stars. Look at all of the specs in the image - they are stars in our universe.)
